Prepaid Water Meter Domestic or Residential (model DJWM84 or QuintoTM)

TagMeter Systems fully adopted the Ultrasonic Metering concept. Using Ultrasonic Sensors we measure the flow through a brass tube. The meter is fully digital and there are no moving parts. Also Air in the tubes or pipelines is not measured. The Prepaid Ultrasonic Water Meter for Residentials we called DJWM84 or QuintoTM which means "Fifth" translated into English language.

Ultrasonic Metering for Domestic or Residential usage is quite new and TagMeter Systems made it also very affordable. An Ultrasonic Prepaid Water Meter with no moving parts at all does not need to be more expensive than a conventional mechanical prepaid water meter.

Introduction QuintoTM

The DJWM84 or QuintoTM, which means "Fifth" translated in English language, is an advanced and highly accurate prepaid ultrasonic water meter with valve control.This meter is the ideal data end-point for residential applications. This water meter has no moving parts making it reliable with long lasting precision. The meter can be used either as a Prepaid Meter or as Postpaid Meter. With its robust fully-wrapped design, the DJWM84/QuintoTM is anti-destruction and has an Ingress Protection Code of IP68. QuintoTM has a high dynamic range and integrated valve which you can control. This meter is the best solution for addressing Non Revenue Water, also known as NRW. The DJWM84/QuintoTM is fully IoT ready using either Lora Private Network, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, GPRS, NB-IoT or Wireless M-Bus. By using QuintoTM you can easilly build your own (Prepaid) Metering AMR/AMI system.

 

High Performance

The DJWM84/QuintoTM ultrasonic water meter measures the water flow 4 times per second and incorporates intelligent data error correction technology such as temperature compensation. DJWM84/QuintoTM’s measurements are highly accurate and stable and do not need recalibration.

DJWM84/QuintoTM is measuring with high accuracy and high stability. The DJWM84/QuintoTM ultrasonic technology leverages TagMeter's years of experience in ultrasonic prepaid water meters.

3 options of Battery Life Span and Replaceable Battery

DJWM84/QuintoTM is equipped with 2 batteries: one for the ultrasonic metering and the motorized valve, the other one for the wireless communication module. When using the LoRa communication module you can have Realtime and On Demand Ultrasonic Metering and Meter Controlling (sending commands to the meter) and the meter sends autonomous every 2 hours an AMR/AMI Data Packet. Other communication modules are more like periodic transceiver modules (sending and receiving data) with less frequent Data Packet transmission.

 
IP68 Design

The body of DJWM84/QuintoTM is made of a Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), a high- performance engineering thermoplastic characterized by an unusual combination of properties: Exceptional Mechanical Strength, High Temperature Resistance, Dimensional Stability, Inherent Flame Resistance, Good Chemical Resistance and Electrical Insulation Properties.

These assets make Polyphenylene Sulfide a chosen alternative to metals & thermosets for use in automotive parts, appliances, electronics and several others applications.

 

Even though PPS's moisture absorption is very low, water molecules in extreme condition could pass through. That is also the reason why we took precautions to protect electronics, antenna, batteries and motorized valve against extreme conditions.

  • PCB cabin and Battery compartments are potted with a gel;
  • Antenna is sealed;
  • Motor of the valve is in a separate IP68 enclosure with seals;
  • The measuring tube and the electronics are placed in separate compartments.

 

The solution for addressing NRW or Non Revenue Water

With its highly accurate calculation and intelligent error correction technology the DJWM84/QuintoTM is a powerful solution for addressing Non Revenue Water or NRW. A water leak or pipe burst is reported Near Real Time to your AMR/AMI system, improving customer's awareness and satisfaction and increasing revenue with registration of previously unmetered water.

 

 

Data End Point

The DJWM84/QuintoTM data collection and logging capability provides a high resolution detailed local consumption profile and helps utilities inform customers on unusual consumption patterns or events. This promotes customer engagement and resource awareness.

Multiple settable alarms and events include Leaks, Backflow, Blank Pipe, Pipe Bursts are available.The non-volatile flash memory ensures no data loss even when there is no battery power any more.

 

IoT or Internet of Things

The DJWM84/QuintoTM is a data collection end-point device coupled with a LPWAN communication module, providing the foundation for a reliable and scalable AMR/AMI network such as LoRa Private Network, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, GPRS, NB-IoT and Wireless M-Bus.

Special about DJWM84/QuintoTM and the TagMeter Systems Design is that also the Prepaid Credits are send to the meter via LPWAN comunication. LoRa Private Network incorporates Prepaid Metering in Realtime, it takes between 20..30 seconds for a meter to be topped up with new credits and open/close the valve. Meters send autonomous the AMR Data Packets. It depends on the communication module how often. For instance a LoRa meter sends the data packet every 2 hours, a GPRS meter sends the data packet 1 or 2 times a day.

 

 
Optimum Antenna Design

 

DJWM84/QuintoTM's antenna is a vertical omnidirectional polarization antenna. Printed Circuit Board, Electronics and Antenna perfectly match to ensure the meter is having an optimum signal. This means the meter sends data over a long distance with a good signal coverage.
